For years I lived and worked on an organic beef farm with fifteen others in the beautiful Pennines of  Northumberland after which I moved to the south of England to be with my family. The landscapes in both areas influence my work – the lonesome cry of curlews on wild open spaces of the north, the quarrelsome gulls over gentle downs and shores of the south, each lend  me their rythmns, patterns and colours.  The birds frequently inhabit my images despite my original intentions.

My fascination with natural  patterning and texture can be found in any medium appropriate to the subject. I particularly love the challenges of design and problem solving in printing together with the exciting element of accidentalism in many forms of media that imitate  the macro and microcosm of nature.
